Government And The Big Bad Bailout
America has become the ultimate class system society. Although this class system is broken into two basic categories, rich and the poor, it is a gap that is widening by the minute of every day and eroding the basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution. The latest events surrounding the bailouts is not surprising to anyone who has at least some interest in this continuing sabotage of the financial equality in this country, however the blatant disregard and shameless acts that these rich individuals will go to even after receiving tax payer money is shocking. Have these men been corrupt for so long that they have become in essence a whole other species. Is compassion and empathy no longer in their human cache? How about guilt or responsibility? Have they become devoid of everything except the concept of money and getting more of it. The only thing more shocking to me is how inept and useless our government is. Even after demands by the American public and the obvious unethical if not illegal actions of these recipients of tax payer funds are; they are still incapable of just taking these funds back. A bill passed to tax the recipients of tax payer money by 90%. Are you kidding me? How About I pay off only 90% of my mortgage or student loan back. Maybe the IRS would be ok with me only claiming 90% of my yearly income? I can guarantee you 100% that they would not be. Is this government for the people and by the people useless against a large business entity like AIG? I don’t understand why we can just take the money back. It's the tax payer’s money, let us in a democratic way demand that we take the money back and fire all these greedy rich men. Stop telling us what we have to do and start listening to what we need. I believe the president's intentions are good, however that is not always enough. Our whole body of government needs to start treating their offices as our voices and not a get rich scheme. I am still waiting for CHANGE!
